What this scheme covers

  • C.1The CACES® scheme: assessment of safe equipment operation under Cnam recommendations (R482 construction machinery, R489 forklifts, R486 MEWPs, etc.).
  • C.2'Testing body' certification obtained recommendation by recommendation, with qualified testers and compliant technical facilities.
  • C.3CACES® certificates valid for 5 years, extended to 10 years for construction machinery (R482).

Testing-body certification allows assessing and issuing CACES®; Qualiopi is still required to have the courses financed by public or pooled funds.

FAQ — CACES® testing body

+Is CACES® legally mandatory?

What the law requires is the driving authorisation issued by the employer after checking aptitude. CACES® is the means recommended by the health-insurance branch to substantiate that assessment, and it is very widely required in practice.

+Can a provider train operators without being a certified tester?

It may deliver the operating training, but only a certified testing body can run the CACES® tests and issue the certificate.

+How long is a CACES® valid?

5 years for most recommendations, and 10 years for construction machinery (R482).
